"cause of death not what we were told"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Care of older people

(as a relative),

my mum was in crosshouse hospital for two months before she sadly passed away. they done over 100 test on her and they said it was all coming back clear, however when me and my two brothers went to the hospital to get her stuff we read on the death certificate we got it said she dead of blood poison and heart failure which she had for two months, we know about her heart but no one every said about the blood poison, which I don't understand cause I thought that would of shown up in the blood test they were doing daily.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Vroomvroom,

I am really sorry to hear about your mum. It is never easy when a loved one dies but even harder if we don't understand how or why. I think it is such an important part of the healing process.

I can't give you that explanation, but there will be someone who can. If you wish to contact me and give me some details, I can put you in touch with the right person and they will be able to speak to you and your brothers about it.

I can be contacted by email at Eunice.goodwin@aapct.scot.nhs.uk or by phone on 01563 826222.

I do so hope you get the answer you clearly need. And once again, may I say how sorry I am for the loss of your mum.

Kind regards,

Eunice
