"not enough pain relief in recovery after surgery"

About: North Devon District Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Before surgery I was told by the anaesthetist that I would wake up with pain balls.

After arriving at my ward and during the night I work up in pain and was prescribed paracetamol, but by the next morning I was very uncomfortable. When the anaesthetist came to see me and ask if I was alright I told him I was in pain. He asked about the pain balls but I had none. Then my surgeon arrived while the anaesthetist was locating the pain balls asked the same question and was not happy with my answer to which I asked for me to have morphine and my pain balls.
