Our mother was recentley diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer ,when the hospital told us that there was nothing more that could be done for her, we were given a few options, while we were hestitant and worried to have her moved into Sheldon Unit for the last weeks of her life our worries soon vanished after going there and meeting the care assistants and nurses. My mother and all my family were very much welcomed into the unit and it felt very homely, the staff were always cheerful and helpfull, these guys need a medal for how they deal with what they have to everyday.
There needs to be more places like this around the country, a place where dignity and respect and quality of life is retained for those sadly ending their days there. Our family would like to thank you all for the care and friendship shown to our mother and our family. Thank you.
