"Fantastic care"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had been suffering severe abdominal pain for a few days. I called NHS 24 for advice. I was spoken through my pain by a professional but caring woman who made me feel that nothing was a bother and that my welfare mattered. An ambulance was arranged and the male and female paramedics were caring helpful and put me at ease.

On arriving at A&E I was treated with prompt and efficient staff. From doctors to domestic staff. I was then transferred to ward 18, where the staff were helpful, caring, kind, and understanding. I cannot thank all staff enough for the help and support I was given, mine was in the measure of things quite minor in what these people have to deal with on a day to day basis but I was treated as if they had no other patients who needed their care. Fantastic care.

Dear Evey

I'm sure your abdominal pain was distressing. I'm delighted that you gave NHS 24 a ring and all the teams who could help you across the NHS, including the Scottish Ambulance service, worked seamlessly to provide you with the care and the reassurance you needed.

I'm sure colleagues in our West Central Division will enjoy reading your feedback. Thanks for taking the time to tell your story, and I hope you are on the mend.
