All I ever seem to read in the papers these days are bad reports about the NHS, so here is a golden opportunity to write something nice about it. On holiday from York and staying in Cromer for a week, I am probably the most stupid person to have been admitted to your hospital.
I bit my tongue on the way to Norfolk, contracted a major infection as a result and finished up in your hospital, not being able to speak with an elephant size tongue inside my mouth. Thank you to the Consultant for assessing me, assuring me that you could cure me and for pumping me full of antibiotics via a drip for three days. Thank you to two particular staff members in your emergency ward and to all the lovely nurses for caring for me so well. Thank you to the nurse when I was transferred to your Earsham ward at 23.00 last Tuesday night and for their caring and considerate welcome. To the two nurses for when they took over on the day shift on Wednesday morning and to all the other nurses on Earsham ward. I'm back in York now and feel 100% cured. Your superb and genuine caring attitude, compassion and nice humour seems to filter throughout the entire hospital right down to the porters, cleaners and catering staff. You are a totally class act and should be used as a role model for the entire NHS.
Thanks a million.
