"Aggressive and non-cooperative"

About: Queen Marys Hospital (Sidcup)

I was advised by my NHS dentist and the 111 to go to the NHS hospital in case my removed tooth was causing more pain as it got infected the week before and I had a massive headache all night. We arrived at the NHS and the waiting time was very reasonable. We were then advised to see a nurse who was overly aggressive with me and my boyfriend, asking us sharply "What do you expect me to do ?" after we described the symptoms. Basically, they advised that they could not do anything as it was a dental related issue (though the dentist and the 111 told me to go to hospital), that they could not refer us to see a dentist in hospital nor could they prescribe us any medicine. We will definitely not go there again this was the worst experience we had in any hospital.

I am very sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the service you received at the Urgent Care Centre. It would seem that you were given the wrong advice from 111 and your Dentist as we are unable to treat Dental problems at the Urgent Care Centre. You should have been advised to attend A&E as we are unable to refer either.

However this could and should have been explained to you in a professional way and I want to thank you for bringing this to my attention we do welcome all feedback and expect our staff to act professionally at all times. Once again I am sorry that your experience was not a positive one and I do hope you have now recovered.
