I was admitted to Pontefract Hospital for a total knee replacement On 30/09/2016 and I can honestly say that that was the first time I have ever had surgery and actually enjoyed it. Of course I was nervous and unsure about what was going to happen but all the staff and the Surgeon them self soon put me at ease. Nearly everyone I have spoken to can't praise the staff enough but I would also like to thank the Theatre Staff and Surgeons who did all the hard work. I have never had a spinal anaesthetic before but I would certainly recommend it to anyone having this procedure done. Also and operating theatre is a scary place for most people but the atmosphere at Pontefract will change the way you think of an operation ever again. I was also provided with headphones to listen to music during my surgery and I was surprised when I asked for AC DC and t;hat is exactly what I got. The surgery didn't seem to take as long and being fully awake the recovery process is much quicker. I was on my feet just 3 hours after my op. I can honestly say that the treatment I received during my stay and the after care was second to none. From admin staff to the cleaners, tea and dinner staff, the nurses and all the theatre staff and the Surgeon them self I could not have asked for better treatment all round. Gold Stars for Everyone at Pontefract Hospital and a big Thank
You from a very grateful and happy patient.
"The most enjoyable stay in a hospital"
