"Almost a pleasure"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

This was my 4th visit to the endoscopy department. Visits 1, 2 and 3 had been increasingly unpleasant and I was very apprehensive about this one. However, all had changed, a new endoscopy unit that seems to be completely organised and run by nurses. From the time I arrived I was well looked after with minimal waiting. The procedure itself was carried out by a specialist trained nurse. She and her team explained what was going to happen. put me completely at ease and had the job done before I had time to start getting nervous again. On completion I was told exactly what had taken place and what had been found. This team made an unpleasant but necessary medical procedure a pleasure (almost).

Dear Ancient Mariner

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I can completely understand why you would feel apprehensive about coming to hospital for an endoscopy procedure, however, It sounds like our staff got it just right for you in terms of keeping you well informed, looking after you and putting you at ease.

I will gladly share your comments with our staff who will be delighted to receive your lovely comments.

I hope that you have recovered well from your procedure.

Kind regards
