"Wonderful care"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

Just returned from a short stay in Ward 3 after having appendix removed!

I was impressed with my treatment from start to finish.

From arriving in A and E, I was seen very quickly despite it being a Saturday night.

I was given painkillers promptly which was a huge relief.

All of the staff were friendly and polite, did not rush me and listened very carefully to me.

When I was transferred to the ward, again I was treated very well, listened to, and cared for exceptionally well.

Surgery was performed the next day and I felt confident and safe in the teams capable hands.

I literally cannot fault any part of my stay and would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, Surgeons, domestic staff, cleaners and everyone else who keeps the NHS operating in such difficult circumstances these days.

You are all truly inspirational.

Thank you

Response from Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

Dear Fiona,

Thank you for your very positive review of The Northumbria Hospital, I do hope that you are recovering well from your surgery.

I am so pleased that you feel you received exceptional care during your stay and felt welcomed and listened to. The staff work hard every day to deliver a high standard of care and to know that you have had such a positive experience whilst in hospital, from such a breadth of staff, is really lovely to hear. I will ensure that your review is passed to all of the teams involved in your care and I know that it will mean an awful lot to them to hear that to you they were inspirational.

Kind Regards

Jessica Mallach - Head of Quality Improvement & Patient Experience
