About: Hillingdon Hospital / Accident and emergency

Everyone seems to have an opinion of the hospital and only seem to want to post about the bad stuff! I was taken lll the other week and ended up visiting Hillingdon. I thought I just needed to see the gp at the ucc but upon arrival I was taken straight in as I was more unwell than I thought. All the staff bar 1 agency nurse were amazing. The doctors in a and e and in resus were fantastic and I'm still here today due to them. The nurses and students couldn't have done more for me and when I was moved into the CCU the excellent care continued. The whole building is shabby and needs upgrading and my room was a bit depressing but the nurses were brilliant and made it much more bearable. Nothing was too much trouble for them...even in the middle of the night. Car parking is limited and ridiculously expensive and the food was pretty vile but I think that's the same in any hospital to be honest. I cannot fault the care I recieved especially from one nurse in particular who made a very stressful and scary time a lot easier and took the time to assist me with a smile at all times even when they were rushed off their feet! I hope to never have to visit Hillingdon as an inpatient again but I give the staff 5 stars!

Thank you for your kind and positive comments these will be passed on to the team. It is good to hear that the triage process (initial assessment) is working well as this is the process that ensures safety in Emergency Departments. I take on board your concerns about parking and the building; these are both issues that the hospital is building in to future planning. I hope you are recovering well from your illness and once again, thank you for your post.
