"Poor communication"

I visited the day care centre ECC for minor surgery.

I was extremely surprised in the lack of communication between staff and patients. I arrived at 7.30 am and didn't go through for surgery until nearly 1pm! I do not mind waiting as I understand it is busy but the least you can do keep patients in the loop or at least give an idea on how long they will be waiting. The lack if commutation took me by surprise. I was jus sat in the waiting room not allowed a drink or food and no updates for over 5 hours! Surely there has to be a better way to organise apointments. On a positive note all the staff were lovely when they were dealing with me.
