On the 1st Aug is was in for a small op on a lump on my tonsil. Straight after the anesthetic was administered I went into Cardiac Arrest. Firstly my undying thanks to the prompt action by the anesthetist and all of those unknown angels who kept me here. I believe I was on life support for two days and the information given to my wife was excellent and very reassuring (especially to the member of staff who sat with her until other members of my family arrived from Wales). After 2 days in Resus. I was moved to Bickleigh Ward where as others have stated the care and attention made me feel that I was the only one in there. All concerned with the running of the ward were brilliant and made a very difficult time easier. Every procedure was easily explained to me and was very reassuring having the knowledge of what was to come. Staff were on call 24/7 and how they keep smiling with all the pressure they have defeats me. My thoughts and love will always be of the ward staff in helping me through a very frightening time in my life.....
