My son who will be 18 next month is under the mental health team. I was given a number to call for the crisis team if things got bad. Called the team out last night and the team wouldn't get involved as he wasn't 18. Was given another number and was put on hold for 10 mins only to be told I had to take him to a&e. Grantham a&e was closed so we had to go all the way to Peterborough hospital. The nurse there was very helpful and phoned the crisis team up again and was told exactly the same thing and that all they could do was to send someone out the next day. What would have happened if my son took his own life just because nobody would see him as he was one month away from being 18!! I'm absolutely disgusted at the lack of support in a time of great need. Something needs to be done to sort this mess out. I will be contacting Nick Bowles MP to let him know how poorly my son and I were treated
"total lack of support"
