I had a procedure that required it to be done in an operating theatre. Arrived for 11.30am, warmly greeted and shown to my room. I was booked in with all particulars taken. Even the wrist allergy band was completed, although they had to check it. Surgery was scheduled for PM and although the session started about 1 hour late due to the over run in the morning I went into theatre late afternoon. I was very anxious and the medical team were fantastic. While laying on the operating bed the anaesthetist gave me a small amount of sedative to keep me calm, while waiting for the surgeon to arrive. The team talked to me to distract me. They were the best, and of course my surgeon. All over and in recovery where the nurse was so nice. They came back to the ward with me. The nurse who completed my discharge was very caring and checked on me several times before I was discharged.. They really are a very special team. Thank you.
