"Talking therapy. Cbt. Psychiatrists."

About: Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

I suffered from severe psychosis suicidal thoughts. Feelings of detachment. Social anxiety. Extreme OCD in the form of constant thoughts racing through my head.

What was I offered. ? A 15 month wait to see a therapist !! In the end I paid privately to see a psychiatrist who diagnosed and medicated me with meds the a GP isn't authorised to prescribe !!! Mental health treatment is a farce. It's not fit for purpose and lives are at risk

Hello,

Thank you for your posting and we are sorry to see that you had a long wait to see a therapist. I have contacted the service manager for our Common Point of Entry Service and it was felt that we needed more information in order to investigate fully. Can you contact me in order to discuss this?

Alternatively, you could contact your local Healthwatch organisation for assistance. Contact details are on our website www.berkshirehealthcare.nhs.uk

Yours Sincerely,

Trevor Lyalle
