I had a 2 night stay here following a planned laparoscopic Oophorectomy which in the end had to be converted to laparotomy. I have to say that from my first appointment to discuss my treatment options and pre-op, to my stay in this unit has been a very positive experience for me. The consultant and their team, including doctors, nurses, anaesthesiologists, pharmacists, care staff and cleaners were all very knowledgeable, highly professional, kind, funny, and supportive during a time when I felt anxious, confused, and unable to do for myself for the first time in my adult life. Every effort was made to ensure that I was treated with dignity & respect, and that I remained clean, comfortable and pain-free throughout my stay. I was well-informed of any updates on my case, and had ample opportunity to discuss my treatment with the consultant and doctors before, during, and after surgery. I left the ward feeling confident & able to recover at home knowing that I could call on the ward staff at any time day or night with any concerns I had leading up to my follow-up appointment in 6 weeks time. I honestly cannot thank the staff here enough for all that they have done for me and would highly recommend this unit to anyone needing their services in future X
