"Overrun A&E"

About: Lister Hospital

I attended A&E last week for an cut to the head, It took 4 hours waiting in minors to be seen, I don't blame anyone the service was reasonable but I felt the staff had to much to deal with and just no time.

All in all it is sad to see people doing their best in what can only be described as an overrun hospital with an evident lack of staff resources and room.

Thanks for your response - we've invested some £20 million in our new emergency department and also recruited more doctors and nurses. The problem is rising demand, with more and more people coming to A&E when better options may exist elsewhere. It may well have been that coming to the Lister was the right option, but a quick call to NHS111 would have given people access to quicker options to be seen. In the meantime, our staff will continue to do their best for the people who need their care and support.
