After being seen at home by a paramedic who advised me to go to a&e due to breathing difficulties, I attended a&e and there was no urgency, the triage nurse seemed uninterested in my case, I gave him my paperwork from the paramedic in which he didn't even read. I was taken through for nebulisers to help ease my breathing and I thought great I am being treated only to find they sat me on an uncomfortable chair in the corridor infront of other patients and it was there I started to receive my treatment. I was disgusted at this as my care is private and I felt very embarrassed. I kicked a little bit of a fuss as I was embarrassed, I was moved to a cubicle which I was then forgotten about. after nearly 3 hours I had only just had my vital signs - blood pressure etc taken and they had no concern the difficulty I was in with my breathing and my pain. I had to self discharge in the end as I was so angry. the staff had no interest in the notes from the paramedic who had concerns about my lungs and temperature. Goes to show a&e staff choose to ignore the wishes of paramedics, who I must say I cannot fault the paramedic who attended me and it was lister hospital that failed.
