I'm just writing to say a massive thank you for the outstanding care I received on both my visits to the Westmorland street hospital.
Firstly, my consultant is incredible, was so kind, caring and most of all listened to me. I've spent my life suffering from urine infections, to find out that it was fowlers syndrome. The consultant has changed my life and I will forever be grateful. I've never been treated with such respect and kindness from a consultant.
As for the care whilst I was in hospital, i was treated with utmost respect and dignity. Firstly, a member of staff in charge of the surgical ward on floor 2, was incredible. They made me feel relaxed and spoke to me as if they wanted to hear about my life, which calmed me when I was anxious and feeling unwell, this member of staff is an asset to the team. The senior staff nurse was exceptional!!
I'm studying to be a nurse and if I'm anything like this nurse when I'm qualified I will be one happy girl. This is the definition of a great nurse. There was an HCA who was great as well, really funny but made me feel comfortable even when I was embarrassed! A big thank you to the nurse who knew I wasn't right and suggested I stayed the night. I'm not great at explaining how I feel, but they made the effort to read my body language and get my feelings out. I had to stay the night unfortunately as my recovery wasn't as expected, the nurse who admitted me and took care of me was so attentive and warm hearted, very approachable and comforting.
Overall, the whole experience was as positive as it could of been. I am so lucky to have experienced great care, and I hope one day I will be able to give back to the NHS what I've received.
I hope my feedback will get back to the team, as I feel I didn't get a chance to thank them enough and that's my only regret.
Many thanks again
