"Postnatal care midwife very rude"

About: Good Hope Hospital

I had my first baby and chose good hope. The labour ward staff were amazing. I received fab one to one care after being induced. However the after care in post natal had slot to be desired the midwife who was in charge of me was rude told me they had been a midwife along time and they see unsettled babies, which is fine however I had been sleep deprived five nights, my little girl was my first baby. I needed emotional guidance and some support as I was tearful and exhausted. The midwife in charge of my care was abrupt lacked compassion and time. If I decided to have another baby I don't think good hope would be my first option second time round. We are blessed to have the NHS, some staff clearly worked.

Dear Anonymous

Congratulations on the birth of your new baby daughter, and thank you for your feedback regarding your recent birth and post-natal care at Good Hope Hospital.

I am concerned to read some of the details of your experience and would like to ask you to contact our Patient Services Team so that we can obtain some more information and look into this in more detail for you.

Please call 0121 424 0808 or by email: bhs-tr.Complaints-ConcernsandCompliments@nhs.net

I am also highlighting this post to Carol Lee our Lead Midwife for Patient Experience, so if you could please ask for either Carol, or Naomi Hill, another one of our Patient Experience Midwives, that would be fantastic. Carol and Naomi will be able to look into this for you and provide some feedback directly.

Thank you for providing your feedback, patient experience is very important to us, and we look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.

Kind regards

Marie Helebert
