What could be improved
Cleanliness the floor beside my bed had spots of dried blood.
Although I was only here for 48 hrs before being transferred to QMC my bed wasn't changed at all and I notices that unless patients wet their bed it wasn't changed.
Unfortunately for me in the four bed ward that I was placed in the other three patients were nil by mouth as a consequence I was forgotten I did ask for a drink and a nurse lifted the water jug at the end of my bed (that would be the jug that had been standing there for the last eight hours full of tepid water) I felt sorry for the elderly patients I did eventually get a cup of tea at 9pm. When I arrived at QMC they said I was dehydrated and put me on a drip . I appreciate I was on a busy ward but the lights were on until 1am with nurses chatting and banging about when you are feeling so poorly the noise and lights make it very difficult to rest so more consideration for your patients is a must.
I felt that some of the other patients deserved to be dealt with in a more dignified manner.
Anything else?
Nobody likes hospitals in truth but they are a necessity this one has unfortunately given it self over now as a geriatric hospital and I felt very uncomfortable being ill and being placed in such an environment.
