"How long will I have to suffer this inconvenience?"

I'll explain from the beginning, in February 2010 I was taken to Hope hospital as an emergency being unable to pass water. I've had a stricture problem since being catheterised after an RTA in 1982, resulting in neurosurgery and a 13 week Coma, most of it being in Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.
Mr Donald Macintyre had 13 attempts to sort it out and eventually succeeded, but on the night in question everything just stopped, a supra pubic catheter was fitted in outpatients.
That was a Saturday and on the Monday I was discharged and left to get a bus home. On the Tuesday I was called back for a scan, which I'd never been told about.
A nurse came and dressed my wound once, then said to me to leave it uncovered in future and then left me no more dressings. It’s bleeding and discharging so I'm having to buy wound dressings at Morrisons and to bath and dress it daily myself.
To add insult to injury, I've asked everybody I’ve spoken to how long I'll have to suffer the inconvenience of having to wear a catheter on my leg in the daytime and having to change to a Simpla S2 2 litre None-Drainable bag every night. On my assessment sheet under significant findings/problems it says, "Not sure why a supra pubic catheter put in. Very anxious". On reading that comment I wonder why I haven’t heard anything off someone. That's a laugh; I've not heard a word and as I first asked I wonder if this is this acceptable.
I've emailed them with my doubts but I have not had any reply. I am going to check up on legal action but I really don't want this to happen, but I wonder what choice I have realistically.
