"Absolutely disgusted in my sons care"

About: Airedale General Hospital / Neurology

(as a parent/guardian),

We were admitted to ward L. 52 following a CT scan at Airedale hospital on my infant son showing a suspicions mass on his brain. The staff told me straight away it was tumour and that I should prepare for the worst. When getting to the hospital they said my son wasn't a priority and he wouldn't get scanned that day. Instead we got told to come back on Monday morning and fast my son from 1am.

He had his last feed on Sunday night at 11pm. They said his scan would be at 8: 00, then 9: 30, then 3: 00, then 3: 30 then 4: 30. At this point my son had starved for 17 hours, he was weak, crying in hunger, they wanted us to keep waiting until half 6. I refused and took my son home and told them to contact me when they had time for him. The doctors called me neglectful and threatened me with social services. On Tuesday he finally had his MRI scan which showed he didn't have a tumour, it was a group of blood vessels. The amount of worry and upset they put me through from Friday until Tuesday is unreal and I will never ever in a million years want my son to be treated at that hospital again.
