I started trying for a baby in July 2014. After a year of no luck I was referred to see a gynaecologist. I choose Barnsley hospital because I had heard a lot of great things. However I have been left extremely disappointed, frustrated, and upset over the service. There has been a lack of information given for the time limit of my partners sample. I was tested positive for thrush which no one told me about and the blame was bounced between the hospital and my GPs. So a repeat of my swabs had to be repeated to check to see if the thrush was still present as the test to see if my Fallopian tubes are blocked requires that no infection to be present. I had to chase the results of these swabs as again I was not informed of the outcome. I was waiting for an appointment from radiology for the tube blockage test but they were awaiting for gynaecology to pass on my swab results even after approximately 2 months after I had chased up the results. Now after my 2nd appointment I am waiting for my 3rd appointment. I was seen in the beginning of April (despite their records saying 20th April which is impossible because I was at work) so I was told 4 months. Yet no letter and every time I ring it's the same story that the consultant is booked up and they're waiting to see what they want him to do. While I wait the next appointment is getting further and furth away. I should be seen in August the next appointment is now November and they are still yet to make a decision. I did not realise that patients now have to probe and pester staff to pull their finger out. I understand the staff are busy but infertility is a terrible thing to be dealing with. Me and my partner should not also have the stress of an inconsiderate constultant and their poor staff that they to sea with me crying on the phone. If I could change hospitals I would.
"An absolute nightmare"
