"I was treated exceptionally well ..."

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was treated exceptionally well by all members of staff. The nursing and care staff were extremely helpful and competent. The doctors and surgeons were approachable and explained the procedure and the theatre staff were very supportive and caring. The after operative practices were well co-ordinated and I was thoroughly well looked after and cared for the entire time I was in hospital. I ended up having to stay overnight as I had not fully recovered use of my limbs/ functions. I was released the next day after being taken through all the procedures, medication, use of crutches etc.

Overall it was an excellent level of service.

What could be improved

The only element that caused slight difficulty was that I was originally admitted as a day case but had to stay overnight as I only went into theatre lateish afternoon and therefore didn't really recover early enough to be released. I didn't have any items but I was well looked after by all the staff - all the nurses (qualified and students) were excellent.

Thanks for your comments. Hearing about positive experiences really motivates our staff, and helps us identify where we’re getting things right so we can share good practice across all of our services.
