"Flashes in the Left Eye"

About: Western Eye Hospital

On Saturday evening I became aware of split second flashes in the corner of my left eye. Concerned, I attended the A&E department of the Western Eye Hospital on Sunday morning.

I was surprised at how busy it was yet the reception was welcoming. In less than two hours, following triage & drops in the eye I was seen by a doctor who was friendly and put me at my ease. After a thorough examination, they then explained exactly what was going on and informed me that it was nothing to worry about.

I also received advice on future eye care.

It was, all in all, an impressive experience and all those I encountered were a credit to the NHS.
