"Not convenient at the moment"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I visited the adult A&E due to a sprained knee and was very concerned to find that the "temporary entrance" was round the back of the building and then a very long limp to the reception. As I was unable to walk on my own this was no where near ideal and very painful. I arrived at a very small make shift reception area and was then taken into a side room, I was not offered any assistant in helping me walk although I was directed down the corridor to another waiting room - this all seemed very pointless and arranged poorly. Once in the other area there was no privacy for any patient just a curtain for each cubicle around the waiting area; I was not there for anything private but I can see how this could have made other people very uncomfortable.

On a positive note I was treated quickly including a X-Ray and medication.

I am sure things will be better once the new building is read
