before, during and after my operation there was very little communication. before, I had to chase my appointment via PALS( who were excellent) whilst I was there nurses did not communicate with me what would be happening and after my operation I was discharged with a message of any problems see your GP. I had a tonsilectomy and was discharged without my throat being looked at!! the day after I was discharged I received emergency care from my GP as my medication was not suitable. All that was written on my discharge( to the wrong gp) was tonsillectomy, not terribly helpful.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry to learn of the communication problems you experienced whilst a patient here and that these problems continued following your discharge home. I have passed your comments to colleagues in our Surgical Department for their information. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank you for your very positive comments about our bedside facilities for patients and the excellent service you received from our PALS staff - I will be informing both departments of what you said, they will be delighted to hear such positive feedback and that they were able to be of help to you when you most needed it.
