"Care in A&E on Sat night"

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

I was brought to A&E on Sat night June 4th at 9pm approx. I had fallen and couldn't straighten my leg or weight bear. I realise there was a 4hr wait but was treated with care and politely by your staff. I was given analgesia. When I was seen the doctor was efficient and thorough and arranged an X-ray. This took alittle while as the radiographer was on a ward but I was then seen again to confirm there was no fracture. It was 5am and arranged for me to see a duty physio on Sun am - very impressive. After being seen and walking on crutches I was allowed home with 2 pairs of crutches and your newly formed TADS to visit on Monday. This was done and I was equipped with a perching stool, checked on stairs and a return visit on Tues with sticks. I think this was very impressive care and if this service helps to keep older people out of hospital beds and home again with support I'm sure this is the way forward in an NHS which is strapped for beds. I am 72 years old. I hope you will thank the staff for their combined care particularly at a weekend in these days when it is only too easy to criticise hospitals and their staff.
