"Ward 24"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as a parent/guardian),

I would like to thank all the staff ward 24 especially the staff involved in the safe delivery of my new grandson and the care given to my daughter. My daughter suffered a Postpartum Haemorrhage therefore lost a lot of blood. However due to fast efficient staff looking after her, she recovered very well and got home the next day. I believe the main staff involved was Elsie (Charge Nurse), Adele (Midwife) and Heather (student). Working in a busy department as I do it is not all that easy to get out to visit etc, however Elsie allowed me to sit with my daughter and new grandson at my lunch break and took the time to give us both a update of their care.

Thank you and well done Ward 24

Dear Mother and Gran,

Congratulations on the birth of your grandson. A post partum haemorrhage is an obstetric emergency that our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team are trained to safely and effectively manage, it is reassuring to hear that your daughter made a good recovery. Thank you for complimenting the team and especially Midwives Elsie, Adele and the student Midwife Heather, they will all appreciate this kind feedback.

We strive to provide a person centred approach and appreciate how important family members are in supporting new mums and families, it sounds like we contributed to support you and your daughter when required. Thank you for giving us this feedback.

Best Wishes
