"undiagnosed"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Chronic Pain and 2 lumps in abdomen. referred to Colorectal for colonoscopy by GP Dec 2015, refused and sent to Gastroenterology.

Appointment 6th Jan 2016 discharged but referred for ultrasound. Two months wait, couldn't be read and told to get GP to re-ref. Saw GP 31st Mar re-referral for ultrasound as possible hernia, refused by Gastro.

Sent letter of complaint to PALS, had 2nd Ultrasound which was done in 1 to 2 mins Doctor uninterested and said no Hernia. Remains undiagnosed.

Saw GP yet again 27th May 2016 and re-referred back to Gastro, phoned appointments line and informed it is a six month wait.

So what is the point in trying to get a proper diagnosis for possible treatment a year later.

Probably won't bother as they have wasted my time enough.

I am very sorry that you have had such a bad experience within the Gastroenterology Department.

I note that you state you have already sent a letter to PALS, but if you would like to discuss this further, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at PHT.Pals@porthosp.nhs.uk or via the free phone on 0800 917603 and give them your details and they will be more than happy to try and resolve the outstanding issues you have.

Kind regards.

Debbie
