It is now just over 6 weeks since my right hip replacement done at Wansbeck hpl and having time to review my total experience and report it accurately for public perusal. As an ex hospital consultant I have first hand experience of NHS policys and acceptance. It should be pointed out that am now 70 and have never spent a single night in any hospital as a patient so thus have no comparison to make
Arrived at Ward 7 for pre op preparations and can say was immediately put at ease thru the staffs professionalism and care it gives a feeling of comfort and care from the start. Off to the theatre and a good description of what was going to happen and by whom even to a choice of music and a free set of headphones to listen to whilst the operation went on That is A fantastic touch and thank you for this level of care and attention to detail.
Went back to Ward 17 where was encouraged early to get out of bed and move into a chair to help me feel more confident with what has just taken place
The day went well with full care and attention to my needs and well being and evening meal was supplied which was better than some restaurants I have paid to eat in
Night stay was ok next day was given first class cooked breakfast and then care via physio and nurses
Words truly can not be enough to say a huge thank you for the care help and attention I received form everybody at the hpl would I recommend it to family n friends a huge yes without any reserve In today's world of complaining and dissatisfaction it is my pleasure to put this together to give medals and support to your excellent teams.
Can say if I had been given a bill for the entire time and procedures I would have paid it willingly as it was truly well earned by you
"the fantastic work and experience encountered..."
