What could be improved

i was booked into hospital for aspinal fusion but after arainging all my affairs both at work and home i was informed that my bed was used or required for someone else unfortunattly i feel that a quick sweep of the pen to cancell someones appointment 12hrs before they were due in is rather to easy i feel maybe a look at each individual case should be look at before decission made and how it would effect that person .otherwise whatis the point of giving them 21days notice in the first place .
