the professionalism, care and support of the fantastic nurses on the neonatal ward. They were brilliant and can't praise them enough!!

What could be improved

I was a patient on the maternity ward at MK hospital and unfortunately the list of what could be improved is endless. The ward is constantly busy and there are not enough midwifes to cope with the high turnover of patients. This then leads to error, unhygenic premises and a lack in proper care. Communications between patient, midwife and doctor could be improved - I developed major complications post natally and was constantly confused, worried and completely left in the dark about my plan of care. Cleanliness of the wards bathroom and toilet facilites certainly could be improved.
