I had an operation to remove my bartholins gland and cyst after suffering for many years and having had pervious procedures done. Spent 2 nights in the care of ward 6 and had the same positive experience I had last year on the ward. The staff are true Angels. I was very anxious before my operation and the nurse on the ward was just lovely, the theatre staff were extremely understanding and caring and I was put under in a nice calm environment where I felt very safe and secure.
Unfortunately I woke up in extreme pain due to a heamatoma that had developed in my wound, I understand that it is just an unlucky complication and not the norm however I remember the theatre nurse being so kind and she really done her best for me while I was in her care, when I was moved back to ward I still had extreme pain in the wound and I was begging them to take me back to theatre and knock me out, the nurse on the ward was amazing and done her best to help me and keep on top of the pain and the Dr that preformed the operation came and inspected the wound and tried to drain it, I actually passed the blood that was building up when I went to the toilet and was no longer in pain so although I had an unfortunate complication the dr and staff really tried their best. I have recieved excellent aftercare from ward 6 and they were happy to see me once discharged and I had anxiety about infection.
I cannot emphasise enough how good the care is under the gyneacology team at forth valley. I was very impressed by and grateful to be in the care of dr Huda. I'm 2 days post op minimal swelling and zero pain and almost back to normal, I cannot thank her enough. The nurses Jane and Jim from theatre were lovely. Unfortunately I cannot remember the other nurses and night shift dr names but all staff provide 1st class care.
