I was refered by my GP to the Physio department due to the persistent knee pain. When making an appointment they said that they were very busy so a student would assess me but that somebody qualified would be by his side supervising.
First visit, the trainee checked me but could not confirm what was wrong. The qualified person was there only 5 minutes. The visit lasted 40 minutes.
Second visit the supervisor was not there at all, so was seen again by someone who lacks experience. After checking me again they confirmed that the pain was due to lack of strength on the muscle. I am 39 year old very active lady who goes to the gym 3 to 4 times a week!
So their recommendations were to strengthen the muscle and to come back back in a few weeks.
I also asked what about my flat feet, as I think this might be aggravating my knee. Answer was get yourself an insole from Boots!
I think this is a waste of money and time for the NHS and myself!
I'm not sure weather I will be coming back. But what I'm certain of is that I will definitely come back in a few years time with an agravated knee that might need surgery!
"Waste of time and money for the NHS and myself...."
