"A & E (twice)"

Waiting 6 hours plus whilst having a breakdown and not getting seen did not help only to be told to go home given a tablet up all night and back the next day for round too finally admitted into the local psychiatric hospital straight away shame they couldn't help me sooner really as this was not only distressing for me (not that I remember it well) but also my other half who had to put up with this and not knowing what was going on did not help. I am thankful to the staff that saw me in the end in the state I was in and could see I needed the help that I eventually got.

I am very sorry that you had a distressing experience when you attended our A&E department and had to wait a long time to be treated. We regularly treat over 90% of our patients within four hours of arrival, but we are also one of the busiest A&E departments in London and, unfortunately, this does sometimes lead to delays. I am pleased that we were able to provide more constructive help on your second visit.
