"Treatment at Ward 13"

I would like to thank all the staff that were working on Saturday from the guy at the seek who took my name to the guy who removed the dirty laundry - you are all fantastic!

You always hear to many stories telling us what went wrong, but noone seems to take the time to tell how well things went, so here goes.

I don't remember much after my surgery apart from being surrounded by staff trying to bring my sugar levels down, bring my blood pressure down or bring my temperature down - they never stopped; I thought it was over and they would be back every 30 minutes to check everything again - they were always upbeat and kept telling me things would improve.

When I couldn't eat, they were still positive giving me anti-sickness meds just to keep me comfortable.

By Sunday, things started to improve - temperature, blood pressure and blood sugars started going down and I was able to eat half a bowl of cereal, I was improving! !

The wonderful nurses and nursing assistants still checked in on me regularly and I was encouraged to get our of bed and walk around the ward. I was surprised to discover that they had 12 beds filled on Saturday night but I sfelt like I was the only one there, now that is great service.

I would like to thank all the staff at Ward 13 - Mary, Vicky, Lynn are the only names I remember, sorry ladies!
