"Absolutely marvellous,"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

From the moment my husband was admitted to the Cardiac Unit with a suspected recent heart attack to his discharge three weeks later, i have nothing but praise for the treatment he received. After the results of an angiogram it was established that he would need a triple heart bypass. All the pre-operation procedures were explained to him and he was able to ask any questions or concerns. I must first of all express my sincere thanks to the marvellous surgeon and his team who performed the operation. Also the staff in the ICU where he had to spend four days post operation. Their care and commitment is second to none! Pre- and post-operation he was taken care of by all the marvellous staff on Ward 38. Also my sincere thanks to them all.

Previous the his 3 week stay in the Cardiac Unit, my husband (65 years old) had only ever been inside Blackpool Victoria Hospital to visit, so you can imagine the shock for us both. In these days when people are quick to find fault with the NHS I have nothing but praise for them!

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your Husband’s recent positive experience here at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

I can understand that initially this was a shock to you both and I pleased we were able to provide you with reassurance and answer any questions or concerns you had. It is wonderful to hear that you found the care and commitment shown by our staff to be second to none.

I will ensure that I share your experience with the teams involved in your care and treatment as I know they will be delighted to hear this feedback.

We have a Patient story programme which allows patients to relay their experiences directly to the trust by video or audio recording. If you would like to participate in this please contact Eleanor.walsh@bfwhospitals.nhs.uk

I hope that your Husband’s recovery continues and I would like to thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience.

Andrew
