At the end of last year I had an infection inside my throat and the next day I had an chest infection so my mom took me to the GP and I strike a temperature (39. 0) and I had a nosebleed 8 hours non-stop.
The GP told us to go to QE hospital and as I arrived at the reception I fainted for 5 minutes and the doctor woke me up and put me in a room half an hour and then I moved to another room to stop my nose from bleeding however my dad asked why was her nose bleeding for 8 hours non-stop? and the doctor said we are not sure however I will have to send you to BCH so the special doctor can find out for you.
After that my mom went with me in the ambulance to BCH and dad quickly drove the same time as the ambulance to BCH as I arrived I was in A&E and they put me in a little room and the nurse did a blood test to me ( I was screaming really badly because I hate needles) after nurse took some of my blood she gave it to the doctor at the lab and they found out that I had Leukemia AML so the doctor told my mom and dad, they were happy and sad.
They were happy because the doctor said it was found early and everything is gonna be alright and they were sad I had Leukemia. I never knew anything what the doctor said until Christmas eve because I was on Ward 15 TCT and my dad was on the phone spreading the news to my family and I was being nosey and was listening to the conversation so my family member said "is she alright? " and my dad said "she is alright its that the doctor said she has blood cancer called Leukemia AML" and when I heard that I was bursting into tears and I was blaming it on me for having Leukemia AML.
I wish I had been told straight away if I have cancer. One nurse told me "its not your fault you have cancer and nobody knows what caused you to have it anyway" and when she said I realised I was not the only one and that's when I started to have Chemotherapy and somebody told me "good luck fighting the war" and now I've finished 3 chemotherapy ( I've got one left) I feel like that I may not win the battle but I will win the war.
"Leukemia AML"
