"Unhappy"

About: Skegness Hospital

Tonight we visited skegness a&e with my 2 year old son, we went to front desk and got booked in, then we was called into a cubicle where we was seen by a nurse, they asked why we were there and check my sons temperature, they then said someone will come see you soon. During our wait at least 5 other patients came into the cubicle and was seen to and had gone, after waiting about 40mins i called the nurse back and asked why the long wait...we had been forgotten about, they then came back and asked what the symptoms were...again!

Disgusting that we was forgotten about, my son had fallen asleep waiting, also heard some language while waiting..

I apologise for your poor experience and unnecessary wait at our Urgent Care Centre

Although it may seem annoying, it is normal practice for the Doctor or Practitioner to ask about the problem at consultation, even though this may already have been asked on arrival.

Whilst I appreciate that it may feel like a long time to wait, especially with a child, and it was apparent that you were forgotten about, we do see and discharge 99.55% of patients who attend our Centres within the 4 hour target.

I am afraid that we are not able to control the language other visitors to the Urgent Care Centre use, but again I am sorry you had this experience.

I am happy to investigate specific concerns and give a more detailed response if you would like to contact PALS on 0845 6024384 or Complaints on 01522 309752 with the details.

Our staff pride themselves on the service they deliver would also want to offer their apologies, and will of course try to ensure such over sights do not happen in the future.
