Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to thank the N.H.S. for the treatment I received just recently.
Doing what I usually did at night, falling asleep in front of the fire, looking at T.V. which has a so horrific effect. I went to bed. Unfortunately I tripped and fell cracking my head. It bled! I couldn't stop it. I live alone, so rang the NHS Direct, the nurse was very good, and after a short time got me some assistance. I was given first aid, but the bleeding didn't stop. It was decided to take me to the Northern General Hospital accident department. That night was a very busy one due to adverse weather conditions, which caused some fractures. I was not seen til about 3AM. I had several stitches in my scalp, then admitted to T.A.U. Ward.
The following morning I was given a good breakfast. Later after washing my face, I was seen by a doctor, and then one of the nurses dressed the wound on my head.
I was given a tasty three course lunch.
In the afternoon, I was brought home in an ambulance, which dropped other patients off on the way.
I found the whole experience very interesting and once on the ward very pleasant. I can find no fault with the whole system and am grateful for all they did!
