"Unable to manage simple complications"
I had my NHS treatment (epidural injection) cancelled because I fell pregant while waiting.
I was given a list of excuses some of which were untrue (such as pregnancy falling outside the NICE guidance for the procedure - the procedure is not recommended by NICE under any circumstances).
The excuse that stuck was a blanket policy not to admit pregnant patients at whatever stage of pregnancy.
There is no individualised risk scoring based on the stage of preganancy, the procedure being carried out and any additional medical conditions - which I could have accepted - although I also am aware I would remain at low risk of complications for this procedure or my pregnancy.
The decision has simply not been made in the best interests of either me or my baby and without involving me in the discussion.
