I do not feel this service is fit for purpose, adequate or offering the NHS value for money.
It is the only resource available for gps to offer patients suffering from anxiety, stress or depression.
In our case, we self referred as required but were not contacted within the time promised with a call back. When we received a call an operative talked from a script to assess the situation, this did not give the patient confidence. We waited eight weeks since the GP apt and referral and have still not been offered an apt or therapy as required. This is despite the GP and mental health nurse contacting them to offer us more urgent help.
I am sure the service is busy but to receive no help is unsatisfactory. The patient is left with no help and support at a difficult time.
I feel the gps should be aware of the inadequacy of the service.
"An inadequate service, not fit for purpose."
