I was 1st referred by my Doctor for surgery in May 2015 and accordingly held off booking any holidays for 2015.
I had 2 appointments with surgeons 1 appointment for a Scan in 2015.
I asked to be put on any cancellations.
I gave a list of my 2016 holidays booked and alas was given an appointment for surgery which interfered with these previously advised 2016 holidays.
I was told unless I could have the surgery within 30 days I would be taken off the live list and would have to again be referred by my Doctor and start the process all over again.
How can anyone plan their life, if this supposed 30 day rule is applied apparently without any consideration to the patients commitments and in a reasonable expectation of when the surgery would be carried out.
What is the cost to the NHS this 30 day rule has and is this rule valid or just an Administrative issue.
How do I make a complaint.
