"Sister and staff of Scoping Unit (Urology)"

About: Pontefract General Infirmary

I am writing to say a big thank you to the Ward Sister. What a lovely considerate and caring person they are.

A month ago my appointment for Botox treatment to the bladder was cancelled due to the Doctor's strike on the appointment day. A new appointment was arranged for Wednesday 9th March. I was distraught, my Botox had worn off, and as a person with MS I no longer had control of my bladder function which is very embarrassing. To make it worse news came that the doctors were going on strike again on a Wednesday (9th March). However, a new appointment was sent by the ward Sister for the same day as they were volunteering to carry out the procedure in lieu of any doctor. I attended today and I cannot speak highly enough of the Sister. They are fully aware of the distressing impact of loss of bladder control and carried out the injections today themself. I have been having this treatment now for almost 10 years and for the first time ever it was carried out painlessly and with a skill that has not previously been available from a doctor. Your hospital does not need the service of doctors for this procedure when you have nurses as good as the ward Sister.

Please pass on my comments to your Sister along with a greatful 'thank you'.
