Every single person from the work colleague who called paramedic through the ambulance crew, the medical staff at A&E, all staff including the non-medics on Ward 1 to the stroke support nurse who discharged me was excellent. Everyone was courteous, kind and knowledgeable. I include several people with whom I came in contact in the front foyer and not forgetting those in the cafe. Although I wasn't quite with it some of the time my husband, who was allowed to stay with me for a good while, also reported that the staff looked after him too, kindly bringing him coffee and a sandwich. Apart from the medical expertise displayed I think that the thing which really stood out for me was the friendly atmosphere obviously generated by staff and their willingness to help with what may have seemed trivial requests to them but which were of great importance to the patients and their visitors. Thank you all very much and I wish you all well in your work but I'm hoping not to see you again!!
