"So very impressed with everyone"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / General surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

In March my daughter was admitted to the A and E department at Stoke Mandeville. It was early in the morning and was already very busy, however we were seen almost immediately by various doctors and consultants.

My daughter was given various tests and moved to ward 16a. The staff were wonderful, the surgeon Mr Wheeler, spent some time with us trying to diagnose what the stomach problem was. It became apparent around 6pm that it was appendicitis, and by 7. 30 we had seen the surgeons who were to perform the operation.

At all times the nursing care was exceptional, we were so impressed with everyone involved. By 8 o'clock my daughter was in theatre and by 9. 45 was back on the ward. She was kept in almost two days to recuperate and once again I can't fault the nursing staff/doctors and all catering staff.

The nurse who took care of her was called Libby and she did a fantastic job, as did Jessica who organised the evenings departure. So very impressed with everyone we met a huge thanks to all

Dear G Shelley

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments of your daughter's experience when she attended Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

It is really pleasing to learn that you felt the care given to your daughter from both nurses and doctors was exceptional - in particular nurses Libby and Jessica.

I will share your lovely words of praise to the teams in the A&E department and Ward 16a for recogntion of where Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust staff have worked well together to provide your daughter with treatment and care, in a timely and compassionate way.
