"Room for improvement"

About: Bassetlaw Hospital

I attended the hospital as an outpatient for an MRI scan. On arrival at Ward B6 as instructed no one was expecting me. No doctor was available to insert a drip and my records were not available either. After 1 hour the drip was set up but l was called to go for a scan 20 mins later so my hydration was far from complete.

The lift down to the MRI suite exuded a foul stench of unknown origin and during my time there, no gel was available on entering the ward or in the day room where I was asked to wait.

The nursing staff I encountered were excellent - kindly and professional. They were however clearly frustrated by the complete lack of communication between administrators in different departments.

I was told in the MRI suite to return to B6 two later for a blood test. The sister I saw upon my return again had no knowledge of why I was there!
