"I have had three operations by ..."

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I have had three operations by the same consultant/surgeon and the anaeshetist over the last two years. The first was in April 2008 for a carpal tunnel release, the second in April 2009 for arthroscopy of the knee, and the last one in October 2009 for a total knee replacement, following a few visits to outpatient orthopaedic clinic to try injections first. I can honestly say I was treated with the utmost respect on every occasion, and my stay in ward six was a very pleasant one.The staff on the ward, which was very clean at all times, were very pleasant and attentive, always with a smile and.there was a good morale within the department. There did not appear at any time to be a shortage of nursing staff and they were all kind and considerate. I cannot thank the consltant and the team enough for their expertise and excellence in the delivery of first class care to their patients. The whole experience for me from start to finish including the pre assessment day to the follow up care after my operation was very reassuring; in outpatient clinic if my appointment was at 2.00 pm I was seen at 2.00pm, and bang on time on every other appointment,I don`t think you could ask for anything more efficient!

What could be improved

I cannot think of anything which could be improved on at all as i truly believe that all of the team in orthopaedic department work very closely for the benefit of their patients.

Anything else?

I know that I will need another knee replacement in the future and I will have no concerns at all about going back into macclesfield hospital, I would like to wish all of the team a very big thank you for everything you have done for me!!
